Honolulu: One of the top performing metro economies

Honolulu was ranked in the top 20 performing economies accordign to the Metro Monitor.

The Brookings Institution’s Metro Monitor ranked the top 100 metropolitan areas in the U.S. in terms of economic performance. The four areas that the survey examines are: the percent change in employment from its peak to first-quarter 2009; the percentage change in the unemployment rate from first-quarter 2008 to first-quarter 2009; the percent change in gross metropolitan product from its peak to first-quarter 2009; and the percent change in housing prices from first-quarter 2008 to first-quarter 2009.
